The primary challenge was addressing critical performance issues in a number of areas, including server infrastructure, poor code quality and sub-optimal asset delivery. Peacocks required a solution to these key performance issues and sought innovative ideas for new features and functionality to enhance their customers’ ecommerce experience and improve operational efficiency.

A bespoke in-store Click and Collect Till App, launched in early 2024, to manage click-and-collect orders more efficiently. This web-based portal improved operational efficiency across over 400 stores, integrating seamlessly with Peacocks’ systems and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Core Web Vitals Project
In 2021, we undertook a project to improve Peacocks’ Core Web Vitals performance. Our frontend development team identified and implemented a number of optimisations, including lazy loading, reducing layout shifts, preloading key assets, deferring non essential scripts, advanced image optimisation and improved cache management. These improvements significantly improved performance, enhancing the user experience and contributing to improved SEO rankings through Core Web Vitals adherence.
Akeneo Upgrade and Installation
Upgrading Peacocks’ Akeneo version to the Enterprise module required a comprehensive migration of existing data and custom modules. Our backend team refactored the modules where needed to ensure compatibility for the custom modules and resolved any issues resulting from the upgrade and re-installation. The development team’s thorough, detail-orientated approach resulted in a seamless transition and enhanced functionality.

Frontend Brand Refresh
A frontend brand refresh project for Peacocks, focusing on enhancing the user experience and aligning their online presence with updated brand aesthetics. Key changes included updating the header and typography, introducing a new Peacocks logo, and ensuring design consistency across the website, blog, and transactional emails. These updates were coordinated to launch simultaneously with in-store changes, ensuring a cohesive brand image both online and offline. The result was a modernised, consistent brand experience that not only improved user interaction but also reinforced brand loyalty by aligning all customer touchpoints with the refreshed aesthetic.
