Beam Suntory is a global spirits leader, known for iconic brands like Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Yamazaki, Courvoisier, and Laphroaig, combining heritage, innovation, and sustainability.

The Challenge.


SixBySix engaged with Beam Suntory with a view to analysing the customer journey on the Laphroaig website and identifying areas for improvement within the existing UX.

There were also a number of frontend performance issues requiring review, in order to adhere more closely to Google’s Core Web Vitals metrics, and provide a better customer experience through optimising the site for all devices.

SixBySix integrated with Beam Suntory’s in-house development team and project management systems, to provide seamless delivery across multiple stakeholders.

The key deliverables were as follows:

  • Comprehensive UX review with data analysis on user behaviour at key touchpoints within the customer journey
  • Design refresh with the key aspects being the implementation of the actions from the UX review and to bring the design in line with brand guidelines and to reflect the heritage of the brand
  • Frontend performance audit with key actionables identified to improve Core Web Vitals’ performance
