The Challenge
SMP faced multiple challenges in their transition from Magento 1 to a more advanced ecommerce platform in Magento 2. These challenges included improving the customer experience, operational efficiency and content management processes.
Outdated Platform
The legacy Magento 1 system was no longer sufficient to meet SMP’s growing needs. A modern, robust platform was required to ensure scalability and reliability.
Customer Experience
SMP needed a mobile-first, user-friendly interface to enhance performance and the customer experience. Hyvä was chosen as the frontend solution for its optimal performance, adherence to Google’s Core Web Vitals, reduced time-to-market, and its optimised UX.
Warehouse Management Integration
SMP’s existing manual inventory processes were inefficient. A bespoke integration with the warehouse management system (WMS) was critical to ensure accurate inventory levels and efficient order processing.
Dynamic Shipping Rates
Providing accurate shipping costs based on customer location and order specifics required the implementation of dynamic shipping rate calculations.
Enhanced Checkout Options
The previous platform lacked online payment functionality. Integrating Stripe and supporting both traditional and quote-based checkout options were priorities.
Customer Support
The absence of a chat-based support system was a major limitation in engaging customers and providing real-time assistance.
Content Management
